Tomorrow (Wednesday 11th May 2011) I’ll be performing a half hour set at The Square Brewery in Petersfield – it is free (non-ticketed) entry. Look forward to seeing a few of you there [I’ll be playing at 9.15pm]

I have an obsession with emotion, I want to make dance music that actually connects with people in the way that a soul record does. I want my music to speak to you like a folk record does, in an organic, human way. It’s the human touch that I want.
I’m not usually someone that likes to tell people what’s behind my songs. More often than not these things are best left to the imagination. However, someone suggested to me that perhaps I should divulge a little more information on this song; and I think there’s a chance that in this circumstance they might be right.
I originally wrote the lyrics to this song with thoughts of government corruption and a leader being held accountable for their wrong-doings. I saw hundreds of thousands of people, perhaps even millions, lining the streets of my home town, climbing towards a government building where the government leader was hiding.
As time went on, I watched the strong images coming out of Egypt and Libya and the song became more and more powerful to me. I feel a huge mixture of emotions when I perform this. I hope when you watch this you can feel what I feel.
This tent is ingenious. It uses solar threads to power it. If you (like I and many others), lose your tent after a few drinks during a festival, you can use your phone to make it light up – so you can see it from a distance.
Other features:
- Wireless internet
- Charging hub (mobile phones these days never stay alive for a whole weekend of festival)
- Under floor heating with thermostat..(well pretty much a thermostat)
However, all I ever want at a festival is my own personal toilet. Hopefully in the future they’ll be able to add a throne and a stove! A home away from home.
